Dr. Kimberley Carder
Clinical Psychologist (PsyD)
Dr. Kim Carder is a clinical psychologist with a deep commitment to promoting positive mental health and empowering families – especially children, adolescents, mothers and parents. Her work centres on helping young people and those who support them navigate life’s emotional complexities with clarity, resilience, and compassion.
Drawing on a prevention-first approach, Dr. Kim emphasises building strong emotional foundations and supportive environments long before crisis hits. She believes that learning to talk about big, often difficult emotions is the first step toward long-term growth and connection and that open, healthy conversations can transform the way we live, relate and heal.
Having grown up in Hong Kong, Dr. Kim understands the fast-paced pressures that young people face in global cities – academic stress, identity development and social complexity in an age of information overload. She has worked in the education, research and NGO sectors. She has worked in private practice and recently started up her own private practice, Carder Family Therapy earlier this year.
In her work with children, teens, and parents, Kim helps connect the dots – offering practical tools, deep empathy and a safe space for growth. She focuses on building emotional literacy, self-awareness and the confidence to ask for help, so that families can move forward with greater understanding and strength.
