Assoc. Prof. Dr Anasuya Jegathevi Jegathesan was awarded the top 50 Women in Education Award from the World Education Congress.  In 2023/2024 the Selangor State Government awarded her a grant of RM67,000 to conduct the research and other public education projects  related to managing a suicide or a self-harm crisis. She is a licensed and practicing counsellor in Malaysia for over 20 years. She is a certified trainer in Reality Therapy and a Thanatologist and sat on the National Advisory Council for Counselling 2017-2018. She has conducted workshops internationally and for numerous corporations such as Alliance Group, ROCHE, Bank Negara Malaysia, Royal Selangor, MIDF and many others.  Dr. Anasuya has co-edited a book on Multicultural Counselling: application of Improved Mental Health Services as well as developed therapy cards “Journey Through Life”  to be used in sessions. Her research areas are intercultural interaction, spiritual counselling, death and grief, adolescence and ethical issues in mental health.
